The travel sector, with its heterogeneity of merchants spanning from tour operator, ota’s, ticketing and hotels has become a key pillar in Scalapay’s expansion and in this role you will contribute to the success of this strategy.


As Senior Product Manager for Travel you will be responsible for driving and executing Scalapay product strategy to win within the travel vertical. From discovery to go-to market you will be working in partnership with our Travel director, sales and marketing to develop products our travel merchants and customers love.

Reporting to the Head of Product, in this role you will become an expert digital payment starting from our core BNPL product and expanding into new solutions that can help our travel merchants grow and provide best-in-class experience to their (and our) customers. You will monitor new trends, competitors, innovations and needs across all our core EU markets and will translate market needs into product features our customers and merchants will use.

We are looking for a high-performing data-driven candidate that brings enthusiasm and passion for the travel sector and creativity to challenge the impossible. You will work both at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas) and at the tactical level (executing the ideas)

You will:

  • Own the strategic roadmap and execution of Scalapay products within the travel vertical across all our EU markets.

  • Work in a truly cross-functional team that includes engineers,risk, sales and marketing and is solely responsible to win the travel sector.

  • Understand and analyse Scalapay and competitors’ products from the lens of both customers and merchants.

  • Leverage data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.

  • Work closely with our merchants, prospects and internal stakeholders to test and analyse new products, identify and monitor key product metrics to quickly steer and optimise performance.

  • Represent travel needs within the broader Scalapay product ecosystem.

You’ll be great for this role if you:

  • Have at least 5+ years of experience in product management and leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Experience and extensive knowledge of how the online travel space operates is a must.

  • Are fluent in Italian & English (you will work with teams across multiple countries)

  • Are a technically minded person with a passion to keep abreast of market trends and an ever-changing e-commerce landscape.

  • Have clear urgency to move quickly, scrappy when necessary, along with an agile mindset for problem-solving.

  • Demonstrate examples of work whereby you were directly involved in moving the needle within your product metrics.

  • Wear multiple hats (this is a startup - get ready to multitask).

  • Having experience in building your own product and taking it from 0 to 1 is considered a plus.

  • Ability to create mockups and UX flow to communicate your idea quickly and efficiently is a plus (we have designers but sometimes speed is more important than quality)
