As part of the Travel Retail and Export Markets Europe team, you will be responsible for developing the brand's Travel Retail Middle East accounts. In charge of the strategic, operational and financial management of the accounts, you will embody the image and the values of the company while ensuring the respect of the brand image, the growth and the continued success of our activities, in line with the objectives defined by the zone management.  Based in the CHANEL subsidiary in Dubai, you will manage a team of 7 people dedicated to the activities of your zone and report to the Zone Director based in Paris.

 

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Responsibility for P&L: Drawing up and managing budgets for the area, by customer and by agent (CA, cost structure, operating profit, forecasts).

  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of the zone's development strategy

  • Negotiate commercial agreements with operators (margins, locations, space, staff, events) and ensure that they are properly applied

  • Manage and develop the distribution network

The Assistant manager shall spearhead all effort and resource to create Chanel Difference and ensure counter team understand the spirit of Retail Excellence in order to build retail leadership in the market. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for 2 key accounts: CDF-sunrise & CDFG (50% travel frequency)

  • Int’l AP focused. Including Shanghai, Beijing and other regional airports.

 

Uphold the image of the brand (VM Merchandising + Maintenance +Grooming)

  • Follow up all pending issues on maintenance timely with related internal contacts.

  • Take fully responsibilities to check counter maintenance following up.

  • Ensure counter team understand company expectation on POS environment and with CC’s support to ensure they are in optimum condition at all times. 

  • Monitor and check team standard grooming during counter visits.

 

Leadership and Management of Field Staff

  • Lead, motivate and develop a strong field team of CHANEL Counter Chiefs, Operator Beauty Confidents, and 3rd party Promoters.

  • Conduct monthly meetings with Counter Chief to review sales performance, operational improvement, business opportunities, and convey Chanel vision and mission, motivate and inspire the POS team to reinforce the Chanel Difference

  • Grow and develop Counter Chief to elevate their leadership capabilities, i.e. coaching skills, communication skills, etc.,

  • Design CC duty roster to ensure sufficiency and effectiveness manpower allocation under their own territories.

  • Partner with operator to supervise BA recruitment and focus on retention.

  • Regular evaluation of field team and provide instant feedback.

  • Evaluate the performance of BAs and work closely with training team to enhance product knowledge and sales technique to improve performance.

  • Lead and coordinate with training team to conduct all training sessions. & Work with Counter Chief to provide timely coaching to the counter team after training.

  • Support and plan for field team engagement: team building, annual dinner, BAC and etc...

 

Sale and KPI management:

  • Drive Sales on monthly/ quarterly / annual basis within the coverage

  •  Review sales performance achievement progress with CC and the team

  • Guarantee on site execution.

  •  Set and Monitor incentive progress in POS and motivate BA.                

  •  Feedback incentive program effectiveness

  • Identify business opportunities for the brand to achieve brands’ goals to boost sales of a particular category / campaign.

  • Maximize sales performance of campaign and focused category by closely working with operators and sales floor and mechanics communication to retailers and sales floor. 

  • Watch competitors’ activities closely on sets offer, new launches performance, GWP offering, Staffing, counter VM and counter renovation, so as to formulate right sales strategies.

  • Feedback competitors’ information on promotion planning, GWPs for HPPs, mechanics setting and their achievement rate on a regular basis to track performance.

  • Review sales thru targets and performance of top doors on a monthly basis with Senior Travel Retail Manager

  • Work with sales operation executive to formulate relevant sales reports, detailed SKU reports and campaign launches report for in depth analysis of performance per account, and product performance.

 

Inventory Management

Daily check all counters’ stock inventory and feedback to forecaster Operations Management

  • Work as a communication hub to ensure the smooth and effective cooperation with key internal contacts, feedback issues proactively with different functions.

  • Ensure counters follow all operational procedures regarding sales, with high sense to avoid accept the deal which is not allowed by company (such as group purchase/ coupon / discount)

  • Work with CC to track operator’s OOS so as to feedback to Operation Team / Forecaster

  • With high sense to avoid slow moving stock on one shot campaign products, watch carefully on hero products IC.

 

Promotions Execution

  • Coordinate and execute setting up details relating to High Profile Promotions and in-store programs and promotions.

  • Work with trade marketing team to set retail sales target for HPP per door, or any on counter events, outpost event and pop-up event.

  • Work with trade marketing team to implement in store promotions, HPP and outpost events which fit the accounts, and to provide input to them for staffing and recruitment.

 

Account Management

  • Maintain relationship with trade partners, ensuring we have timely information and details for the advantage of our business.

  • Assist in trade presentations, or business review and any meetings with operators.

  • Partner with operators to ensure healthy inventory.
